Gallbladder

Over the past 20 years, laparoscopic surgery for gallstones and other gallbladder diseases including acute inflammation of the gallbladder has become the standard of care, with very few open procedures performed.

Dr. Turton has performed more than a thousand of these laparoscopic procedures over the years in all types of patients, and understands the challenges and concerns patients sometimes face with their gallbladders. For selected individuals, a Single Incision (SILs) can be done inside the umbilicus, making the scar hidden from view. Dr. Turton can help you determine whether your symptoms are related to your gallbaldder and help take care of the problem with the smallest scars possible. The pain is generally less and allows you to return to all your activities quickly.

For some bariatric surgery patients, rapid weight loss is associated with increased frequency of gallstones and gallbladder dysfunction (or dyskinesia).

If you (or family or friends) experience any of these conditions, Dr. Turton possesses the special skills, knowledge, techniques and surgical experience to help address your needs.
